If I only change my aperture and go from f/11 to f/8 and f/5.6 finally to f/4 then I just OVER EXPOSED my image 4 stops!!! The image will be all white because I let too much light in WITHOUT COMPENSATING FOR THAT CHANGE IN APERTURE! So I just let in an additional 3 stops of light, I need to COUNTER WEIGH that by changing my SHUTTER SPEED. I need my shutter speed to let in 3 stops LESS light so my image will be well exposed again. If I am at 1/500 sec. shutter speed, I need to then go to 1/1000 to 1/2000 and finally 1/4000. At this setting, the dog will be the only thing in focus and the distracting background will become a blur AND the dog will be frozen in motion due to that really fast shutter speed.
